Award Citation:

Dr Kulkarni has done important work in the field of chemical reaction engineering. His novel concept of delayed diffusion has explained the unexpected feature of reaction starting at the centre of the pellet. Based on his work on fluidised bed reactors and stability of chemical reactors, he has introduced new concepts in these areas. He has introduced new ideas on noise-induced transitions. His novel integer solution approach is highly general and will be equally applicable to problems in basic and applied sciences.
